Uttarakhand News Today: A case of fraud of Rs 4 crore has come to light against Uttarakhand actress and film producer Aarushi Nishank. Aarushi Nishank is the daughter of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and former Union Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. In this regard, a case has been registered against two Mumbai film producers Mansi Varun Bagla and Varun Pramod Kumar Bagla in Kotwali city of Dehradun.

It is alleged that these producers committed the fraud by luring Aarushi Nishank with the promise of giving her the lead role in the film and huge profits on investment. Aarushi Nishank is involved in filmmaking and acting through her production company Himshri Films. According to Aarushi's complaint, Mumbai producers Mansi and Varun Bagla contacted her and introduced themselves as directors of Mini Films Pvt Ltd.

According to Aarushi Nishank, the two accused told her that they were producing a film named "Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan" starring Shanaya Kapoor and Vikrant Massey in the lead roles. The producers said that there was another lead role in
the film, which Aarushi was offered to play. However, the condition for this was that she would have to invest Rs 5 crore, in return for which she would get a 20 per cent share in the film's earnings.

The accused committed fraud of Rs 4 crores.
Not only this, the accused producers promised that if Aarushi did not like the script or was not satisfied, her amount would be returned with 15 percent interest. Believing these assurances, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Himshri Films and Mini Films on 9 October 2024.

After this, on 10 October 2024, Aarushi Nishank paid Rs 2 crore as the first installment. Later, under various pressures and pretexts, Rs 25 lakh was taken from her on 27 October 2024, Rs 75 lakh on 30 October 2024 and Rs 1 crore on 19 November 2024. In this way, a total amount of Rs 4 crore was taken from her.

To boost confidence,
the producers organized a grand inauguration ceremony on the sets of the film, which was also attended by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. This further strengthened Aarushi's confidence and she continued to invest.

With time, Arushi became suspicious of the producers' activities as there was no solid progress in the film's production. When she demanded the return of her invested amount, the producers started procrastinating. This made Arushi realise that she had been cheated.

Police started investigation.
After this, Aarushi Nishank has filed a complaint against Mansi Varun Bagla and Varun Pramod Kumar Bagla in Kotwali city of Dehradun. Police has registered a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and started investigation. Police say that they are investigating all the evidence and are searching for the accused.

This incident is yet another in the chain of frauds happening in the film industry, where new or inexperienced artists are duped by luring them with big opportunities. Experts say that to avoid such cases, artists should do thorough research and take legal advice before making any investment or contract.
