Varanasi. 36-year-old engineer Praveen Madhav Singh from Varanasi was among the 42 Indians who died in a fire in a building in Mangaf city of Kuwait. After completing B.Tech from Rourkela, he was a coordinator in Kuwait's NBTC company dealing in oil and fabric.

After the fire broke out in the residential building on Wednesday morning, the NBTC company informed the family. When the embassy confirmed it late on Thursday evening, there was chaos in the family. The family of Praveen Madhav Singh, a native of Karhiya village of Sevrai tehsil in Gahmar of Ghazipur district, had built a house in Gayatri Dham Colony in Shivpur, Varanasi two years ago and started living there.

He was working in Kuwait's NBTC company for more than nine years. The family includes father Jaiprakash Singh, mother Manju Devi, younger brother Aman Anurag, Praveen's wife Roopa Singh and their two innocent children eight-year-old Manisha and 10-month-old Jhanvi.

When I came two months ago, I said I don't feel like going to Kuwait

Praveen came and went home many times during his nine years of service. When he came for 15 days two months ago, he did not know when the time to return came. But when he was about to leave, he told his father that he did not know why he did not feel like returning to Kuwait this time.

Since his company returns all the funds only after completion of 10 years of service, he said that he will stay only till December 2024. When he went to his family after telling them that he would return in August, he lost his life in a fire incident. The family members were crying remembering these things.
