The film was released late due to controversies

Maharaj is the debut film of Aamir Khan's son Junaid. The film was earlier scheduled to release on Netflix on June 14 but due to some controversies, it was released on June 22. Sharvari Wagh plays the role of Viraj in the film. Viraj is the woman who helps Karsandas Mulji (Junaid Khan's character) in the fight against Yadunath Maharaj (Jaideep Ahlawat's character). The film is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra.
