Under the Emergency Response Support System in Bihar, ex-servicemen will now handle the steering of Dial 112 vehicles. Their number will be 3171. Retired military drivers will be reinstated on honorarium as per the need in all the districts of the state. Approval for this has been received from the Home Department. The DIG of Financial and Technical Services has written to all the districts regarding this. They have been asked to identify such retired military drivers in their respective districts. As soon as their list is received, after completing the reinstatement process, retired military drivers will get the responsibility of driving Dial 112 vehicles. Common citizens are getting convenience due to the launch of Dial 112 service in the state.

The Police Headquarters has written to all the districts including Bhagalpur and asked the concerned SP to contact the officer of the Sainik Boards office of the said district. Many districts come under one District Sainik Board. Bhagalpur district includes Bhagalpur, Banka, Katihar, Purnia, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura and Supaul districts.
There is an expansion in the second phase, drivers are needed
The first phase of Dial 112 under the Ex-Servicemen Emergency Response Support System has been completed. Considering the success achieved in it, it is being expanded in the second phase.
