Delhi: Former diplomat Jitendra Nath Mishra, who has served as Indian ambassador to Portugal and Laos, on Sunday said the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump has shattered the myth of America being a "safe" democracy. He said the attack on Trump has also raised questions about America's efforts to advocate democracy abroad.

Secret service will come under investigation

The former diplomat said that Trump raising his fist while covered in blood sends a message of resolve and fighting the Democratic Party with more vigour. Jitendranath Mishra is currently a professor of diplomatic studies at OP Jindal Global University in Sonipat. He said that the US Secret Service will also come under investigation after Sunday's incident.

'Trump is a divisive figure'

According to ANI, foreign affairs expert Ravinder Sachdev has described Trump as a divisive person. Sachdev condemned the attack on Trump and said that there is a possibility that someone who hates him wanted to kill him because of his policies. There is no doubt that he is a "very divisive person" in America.

Sachdev said- the incident is unfortunate

Sachdev described the attack on the former US President as a 'very shocking and unfortunate incident'. He said that sometimes such incidents happen where shooters come with some other purpose. But there is also a possibility that in this case the attacker was someone who was so angry with Trump that he wanted to kill him because of his policies.
