Delhi News: The protest rally of Delhi farmers was organized at Jantar Mantar from 10 am today. More than 2.5 thousand farmers attended the rally. Farmers from about 150 villages including Narela, Bawana, Kanjhawala, Najafgarh, Daulatpur appealed to fulfill their demands before the Delhi elections.

According to the DDA website, Delhi is the capital of India as well as a major economic and employment hub of North India. With the help of the land pooling policy, 40,000 acres of new land is expected to be available. Most of the land will be in outer Delhi areas like Bawana, Najafgarh and Narela. Such large-scale development is expected to make Delhi a major property market in the entire NCR.

In November 2024, the Supreme Court had issued this order on the petition of Delhi Rural Development Forum. In the PIL, it has been urged to implement land pooling and green development area policies in Delhi as per the Master Plan 2021 and Draft Master Plan 2041 for urban development and environmental protection.

What are the demands?
Master Plan 2021 should be passed. Farmers are protesting for two policies in this. There
is a demand to implement land pooling policy and second green development area.
Farmers claim that small farmers will also benefit from this.
Farmers demand that Master Plan 2041 should be implemented.
Revised land pooling and GDA policy should be implemented.
Farmers allege that the land of Delhi farmers is sold at a very low price.

Women farmers said that they are not getting the allotted plots of 500 yards. They have come to protest for the demand of station, stadium and development in the village. Women wing president Satbir Kaur said that with the implementation of land pooling policy, the price of land in Delhi will increase. Big investors will buy the land and the construction of illegal colonies will reduce. Farmers said that despite sitting in the village for 4 months, no solution has been found. Today, during the protest at Jantar Mantar, MPs and MLAs did not come to meet. If the demands are not met before the Delhi elections, farmers will be forced to protest.
