Chaitra Navratri 2024: Chaitra Navratri is going to start from today i.e. 9th April. Goddess Shailputri form is worshiped on the first day of Navratri. Being the daughter of mountain king Himalaya, she is called Shailputri. According to mythological beliefs, Shailputri's name in her previous birth was Sati and she was the wife of Lord Shiva. Sati's father Daksh Prajapati had insulted Lord Shiva and then Sati burnt herself in the sacrificial fire. In the next birth, this same Sati appeared in the form of Shailputri and married Lord Shiva again.

Worship of Maa Shailputri 

Install the idol or picture of Maa Shailputri by spreading red or white cloth on a wooden board. Maa Shailputri loves white things very much, hence offer white clothes or white flowers to Maa Shailputri and offer white barfi. Place 27 flowered cloves on a whole betel leaf. Light a ghee lamp in front of Maa Shailputri and sit on a white seat facing north.

Chant the mantra Om Shailputraye Namah 108 times. After chanting, tie all the cloves with a thread and give them the form of a garland. Expressing your heart's desire, offer this clove garland to Maa Shailputri with both hands. By doing this you will get success in every task and family disputes will end forever.

Importance of worshiping Maa Shailputri 

To destroy all the troubles and negative forces of life, place cloves, and betel nut sugar candy on a betel leaf and offer it to Maa Shailputri. By worshiping Mother Shailputri, desired results are achieved and girls get the best groom. During worship on the first day of Navratri, devotees concentrate their minds on Mooladhar Chakra. By worshiping Shailputri, the Muladhar Chakra is awakened and many achievements are achieved. By worshiping Mother Shailputri one attains health and gets freedom from diseases.
