Ottawa: The relations between India and Canada have reached a very bad phase because of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. India has ordered six Canadian diplomats to leave the country. At the same time, it has called back its diplomats present in Canada. Meanwhile, Justin Trudeau held a press conference on Monday and continued to make fabricated allegations against India without any proof.

What allegations is Justin Trudeau facing now?

At a press conference on Monday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Indian government agents of secretly collecting information, using force, threats and engaging in violent acts targeting Canadians. He cited evidence from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). But the evidence was not made public. Trudeau alleged that Indian government officials were involved in activities that pose a threat to public safety.

Trudeau said – there is strong evidence

"The RCMP commissioner has clear and compelling evidence that Indian government agents have engaged in, and continue to engage in, activities that pose a grave threat to public safety. This includes using intelligence-gathering techniques, targeting South Asian Canadians, and murder, among other violations. This is unacceptable," Trudeau said.

'Tried to work together'

Trudeau claims, "Canadian law enforcement agencies tried several times to work with Indian counterparts on these cases. But they were repeatedly refused. That is why Canadian officials have now taken an extraordinary step. Trudeau alleges that the RCMP met Indian officials to share evidence. It said that six agents of the Indian government are involved in criminal activities."

Trudeau spoke to the UK PM

Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also spoke to United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer on this issue. According to Trudeau's tweet, the two leaders discussed the need to ensure the safety of their citizens and the importance of maintaining and respecting the rule of law. Trudeau and Starmer also agreed to remain in regular contact.

India said- allegations are part of Trudeau's political agenda

India rejected Canada's allegations. The Indian government said that these are absurd allegations by Canada. This is completely part of the political agenda of the Justin Trudeau government. Justin Trudeau's hostility towards India is well known. His government deliberately gives opportunities to extremists and terrorists to harass, threaten and intimidate Indian diplomats and leaders in Canada.

Meanwhile, India summoned the Canadian High Commissioner and ordered six diplomats to leave the country. India said in a stern tone that the baseless targeting of Indian officials is absolutely unacceptable.

Where did the controversy start?

After the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, relations between India and Canada have become strained. Canada accused Indian agents of murder without any proof. Last year, in his Parliament, Justin Trudeau accused India of involvement in the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Let us tell you that Nijjar was shot dead in Surrey, Canada in June 2023. In the year 2020, India declared Nijjar a terrorist.
