After Himachal Pradesh, Assam and Gujarat, floods and rains have wreaked havoc in Andhra Pradesh as well as Telangana. At least 22 people have lost their lives in rain-related accidents in both the states.

Roads and residential colonies are submerged in water in many cities. Cars are floating in water. Train tracks are hanging in the air. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the Chief Ministers of both the states and took information about the situation. The Center has also assured all possible help.

CM Revanth Reddy called a review meeting

Telangana has been receiving heavy rainfall for the last two days. Due to heavy rains, the Palair reservoir in Khammam district has overflowed. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited the Integrated Command Control Center and held a review meeting on the status of flood relief operations and damage caused by heavy rains. All schools in Hyderabad have been closed following the warning of heavy rains.

86 trains cancelled and 70 routes changed

Due to heavy rains in Telangana, the railway track between Kesamudram and Mahbubabad has been damaged. The soil beneath the track has been washed away by water. Due to this, the track is hanging in the air. Railways have cancelled 86 trains and diverted 70 other trains. The cancelled trains include superfast and express trains.

Helicopters will be deployed

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Telangana CM Revanth Reddy over the phone. The PM inquired about the flood situation and damage caused in the areas affected by heavy rains. PM Modi assured that helicopters will be deployed to provide emergency services in case of adverse weather conditions.

Water entered people’s homes

In Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada and Amravati are the worst affected by the floods. Water has entered people's homes here. In Andhra Pradesh, trains between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, Guntur and Visakhapatnam, Rayagada and Guntur and Vijayawada and Rajahmundry have been canceled. Trains from Vijayawada to various destinations including Guntur, Bitragunta, Tenali, Guduru, Kakinadapa Port, Machilipatnam, Ongole and Narsapur have also been canceled.

CM Naidu visits Vijayawada

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu spent the night in Vijayawada. Later on Monday, he visited the worst affected Ajit Singh Nagar area. Vijayawada, Guntur and other cities have been receiving heavy rains since Saturday. 12 people have died due to floods and rains.
