UP News: A road accident took place on Saturday near Dhobahat village under Kalwari police station area in Basti. A bus, a Bolero and an auto collided and fell into a ditch before the Tanda bridge. About two dozen people were injured in the accident. A seriously injured elderly man died while being taken to the hospital.
On receiving the information of the incident, Kalwari police station in-charge Bhanu Pratap Singh reached the spot and started the rescue operation. He picked up the injured and sent them to the hospital in a government vehicle before the ambulance arrived.
Let us tell you that a private bus full of pilgrims of Kichauchha Sharif was coming towards Basti. The uncontrolled bus hit the Bolero moving ahead. The auto was also hit by the bus and Bolero.
There was a commotion when three vehicles collided one after the other. National President of Rural Health Welfare Association Dr Prem Prakash Tripathi informed the police station in-charge Bhanu Pratap Singh about the accident over the phone. Dr Prem Prakash Tripathi along with his colleagues started relief and rescue work.

Hearing the sound of the collision, the nearby villagers also reached there. The police force and the villagers broke the glass of the bus and took out the passengers sitting inside. Kalwari SHO along with his team sent all the injured to the upgraded primary health center Kalwari in government vehicles and ambulances in 20 minutes. The driver Amit Kumar admitted in the hospital said that he was coming from Lucknow with a Bolero.
Just after crossing the Tanda bridge, we had reached some distance when a speeding bus hit the car. After the collision, the Bolero fell into a ditch. About half a dozen people travelling in the bus were seriously injured and a dozen others were lightly injured. The people travelling in the auto were the most injured. An old man died in the accident. The bus passengers expressed ignorance about the collision. They said that the bus swayed two-three times and overturned.
