Bihar Gov Issues Advisory on Monkeypox Prevention: The health department in Bihar has come on alert mode regarding monkeypox. The Health Department of Bihar has issued an advisory to the district administration and hospitals regarding monkeypox. In this, the concerned officials have been asked to make people aware about this viral disease. Along with this, the Patna District Administration has asked the Civil Surgeon to set up a health desk at Jai Patna Airport on priority basis after the advisory issued by the department.

 

Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh has said that no case has been reported so far, but airport officials and the district civil surgeon have been asked to ensure strict monitoring of incoming passengers. Information of all international passengers arriving in Patna in the last 21 days has been asked to be collected at the airport. Following the advisory issued by the Center and then the State Health Department, a health desk will be set up at Patna airport within 24 hours.

 

Treatment and symptoms of monkeypox

Information about the treatment and symptoms of monkeypox has been given by the Patna district administration. It has been said that monkeypox is a viral disease caused by the monkeypox virus. It spreads mainly through prolonged or repeated contact with an infected person. Fever, skin rashes (starting from the face and spreading to the hands, feet, palms and soles), swollen lymph nodes, headache, muscle pain or fatigue can be its symptoms.

 

Some important things related to monkeypox

  • Keep an infected patient separate from others.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
  • Wear a mask and disposable gloves when near an infected person.
  • Do not share sheets, bedding, or towels with people who have monkeypox.
  • Do not wash dirty sheets or clothes used by infected persons with clothes or sheets of non-infected persons.
  • Do not attend public events if you display symptoms of monkeypox.
