Clash Between Smugglers And SSB Jawans: A clash took place between smugglers and SSB Jawans in Premnagar on Tuesday near Raxaul Friendship Bridge on the Indo-Nepal border in Motihari. During this, the smugglers started dragging the SSB Jawan towards Nepal, so the SSB had to fire in self-defense, after which the smugglers ran away. After this, officials of both the countries reached the spot and started investigating the matter, the situation is normal at the moment. 

What did Commander Vikas Kumar say?

Vikas Kumar, Commander of SSB 47 Battalion posted at Raxaul border, said that two soldiers were posted near Premnagar, when a smuggler was coming from Nepal with smuggled goods, the posted soldier stopped him, after which some more smugglers gathered in a short time. Both of them started fighting with the SSB soldiers. The smugglers tore the uniform of the SSB soldier. The posted SSB soldier got injured. Also, smugglers started dragging a soldier Naveen Kumar to Nepal, after which air firing had to be done in self-defense. Due to which the smugglers ran away.

On receiving the information of firing on the border, many officials from India and Nepal reached there and are engaged in investigating the matter. Due to the firing in the air by the SSB jawan, the shell fell towards the Nepal border, which the Nepal Police is investigating. The place where the shell fell has been cordoned off and an intensive investigation has begun. There is no news of any casualty in the aerial firing.

On receiving the information of firing, Nepal Armed Force, Indian SSB 47 Battalion commander, crime branch, local district police reached the spot and started investigation. There was chaos on the border for some time. After the arrival of the officers, the situation became normal. Movement of common people has been restored.

Smuggling takes place on a large scale in Indian territories

According to the local people, a gang of scrap smugglers from Nepal operates on a large scale from Chhapkahiya village near Birganj in Nepal, whose network carries out smuggling from Kundwa Chainpur, Adapur (Matiarwa), Raxaul of Purvi Champaran district including Bhelahi and Sikta border. Last month also, the jawan of Adapur SSB had seized scrap.
