A sensational incident has come to light in Karnataka's most developed city Bengaluru. The body of a young woman from Assam was recovered from a hotel in Bengaluru on Tuesday. Last Saturday, a young woman named Maya Gogoi was seen smiling and entering the hotel. Her boyfriend was also with her at that time. The CCTV camera captured her entering the hotel. Now the girl's boyfriend is not being found. The police are considering him a suspect.

Boyfriend absconded, police is searching

Maya had rented a service apartment with boyfriend Aarav Harni on November 23. He works in a private company in Bengaluru. In the initial investigation of the police, it is believed that Aarav killed her on Monday. After spending the whole day with the dead body, he left the hotel room on Tuesday morning and has been absconding since then.

The body remained in the hotel room for nearly three days. The service apartment staff informed the police about a foul smell coming from the room, following which a police team along with the forensic team reached the spot. According to the police, the deceased had several injury marks on her body including her chest, which were allegedly caused by knife attacks. She also had injuries on her head.

Maya Gogoi's friend Aarav hails from Kannur in Kerala, police said. The suspect was working as a student counsellor at Lips Collar Overseas in HSR Layout here and Gogoi was working at a private firm in Jayanagar, police said.

The suspect had ordered a rope

Citing preliminary investigation, a senior police officer said that both of them entered the lodge (service apartment) at 12:28 pm on November 23. He said Harni switched off his mobile phone after leaving the service apartment. Further, police said that during investigation, we found that the suspect had an old knife, which he allegedly used to stab her. He had also ordered a two-metre long nylon rope online from the Zepto app and took its delivery in the room.

At the crime scene, police have recovered the rope cover which was ordered online. Investigators suspect that he brought the knife with him when they checked the room. He had ordered a nylon rope while staying there, which shows that he had planned the murder. We will be able to get the rest of the details after his arrest. Police said that it will be known when he possibly killed her only after getting the post-mortem report, which is awaited.
