Basti. Two properties of former minister Amarmani Tripathi, accused in a 22-year-old kidnapping case, have been confiscated so far. His land in Lucknow was confiscated on June 6. Last month, his house in Nautanwa, Maharajganj was confiscated by the police.

Now the former minister's properties are being searched in Gorakhpur. For this, correspondence is being done with Gorakhpur Development Authority, Municipal Corporation officials and Sub-District Magistrate Gorakhpur. Kotwali police presented this report before MP-MLA Court Judge Pramod Giri.

The court has fixed June 21 as the next date in the case. Former minister Amarmani is the accused in this 22-year-old case. The court had ordered attachment of his property due to his continuous absence. This case took a new turn when an anonymous person sent a letter to the court.

 

In this, Gorakhpur police was accused of misleading the court. It claimed that Amarmani had property in Gorakhpur. The court took cognizance of the letter and gave time till May 15 to find his property. The police asked for more time in view of the elections. The judge fixed the date of May 30.

After May 30, the date of June 7 was fixed. According to the report of Kotwali police dated June 7, Amarmani's house in Nautanwa was confiscated on April 13, 2024. His land in Lucknow was confiscated on June 6.

 

According to the Kotwali police report, the property in Lucknow alone is worth Rs 1.18 crore. The report mentions that correspondence has been done to trace the property in Gorakhpur in light of the anonymous letter.

On December 6, 2001, Rahul, son of Dharamraj Madheshiya, resident of Roadways Tiraha of Kotwali Basti area, was kidnapped. Police recovered Rahul from the residence of the then minister Amarmani in Lucknow. Out of the nine accused in this kidnapping case, Amarmani Tripathi, Nainish Sharma, Shivam and Ramyagya did not appear in the court. The file of the kidnapping case is in attendance since February 11, 2003.
