  • Control blood sugar level- Diabetes is a major cause of kidney diseases. If you have diabetes, follow the doctor's advice to keep your blood sugar level under control .
  • Exercise- Regular exercise helps control blood pressure and blood sugar. So do at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise a week.
  • Quit smoking- Smoking can damage your kidneys. If you smoke, try to quit.
  • Do not take medicines on your own- some medicines can harm the kidneys. Therefore, consult a doctor before taking any medicine.
  • Regular health checkups – Visit a doctor regularly to detect symptoms of kidney diseases early.
