Keeping in mind the harsh winter and festive season, South director Atlee has come up with a powerful film named Baby John. This film is a Hindi remake of the South Indian film Theri in which Thalapathy Vijay worked.

Pushpa 2 gave tough competition

The makers of Varun Dhawan's Baby John were hoping that the film would act as a Christmas treat for the fans. However, if we talk about the recent box office collection, the film is currently facing tough competition from Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 and it is becoming difficult for it to survive.

What was the worldwide collection of the film

Talking about the worldwide collection, according to the tracking website Sacnilk, the film has registered a business of Rs 16.5 crore worldwide. The film made a net collection of Rs 11.25 crore in India on the first day, while adding the early trends of the second day, Baby John's collection stood at Rs 13.5 crore with earnings of Rs 2.56 crore.

Huge crowds of spectators were seen in cinema halls?

While there were reports earlier that Pushpa 2 was being taken off the theatres to make space for Baby John, things seemed to be settled later. The distributors resolved the issue after talking to PVR-INOX. In India, Baby John had an overall 24.97 percent occupancy in Hindi on December 25. However, more viewers were seen in the evening shows. During this time, 30.89 percent occupancy was seen. There was an increase of 13.92 percent in the morning show, 28.77 percent in the afternoon show and 26.28 percent in the night show.

Varun Dhawan's highest opener film

However, in one way, Baby John is Varun Dhawan's biggest opening in the last five years. His 2019 release Kalank, which also starred Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha, collected Rs 21.60 crore on its opening day. On the other hand, Street Dancer 3D released in the year 2020, Jug Jug Jio released in the year 2022 and Bhediya released in the year 2022 are among those films of Varun Dhawan that did not even earn double digits on the opening day.
