Prayagraj: Dhumanganj Police on Wednesday arrested Assistant Review Officer Sumit Kumar from Allahabad High Court on charges of rape. A case has been filed against the accused Sumit by his girlfriend. It is alleged that Sumit raped her on the pretext of marriage. According to the victim, her friend was also involved in this gang rape. The police have taken action based on the victim's statement. 

Assistant Review Officer in Allahabad High Court: 
According to the information received from the police, 30-year-old Sumit Kumar, a resident of Shastripuram, Agra, got the job as an Assistant Review Officer in Allahabad High Court. He lived on rent in Pritamnagar. It is being told that about two months ago, a girl from Firozabad gang raped Sumit and his friend after locking them in a room at Dhumanganj police station. Along with this, he threatened to kill him. 

Befriended a young man through social media

The girl alleged that she became friends with Sumit through social media. Both of them were with each other for more than two years. The girl used to go to meet Sumit in his room in Prayagraj. According to the girl, one day he took her hostage with the help of his friend and gang-raped her. Threatened not to complain to the police. He said that if you go to the police, he will kill you. The accused said that nothing would happen to him in the High Court.

The accused has been arrested and
the police have registered a case based on the statement of the victim. Police raided and arrested the accused Sumit. On accurate information, investigator Gaurav Kumar of Dhumanganj police station arrested Sumit and sent him to jail.
