Dharm Desk, New Delhi. The month of Ashadh is considered very sacred in Sanatan Dharma. This is the fourth month of the Hindu calendar. This month, there is a ritual of worshiping Lord Surya along with Lord Vishnu. This year the month of Ashadh has started from 23 June 2024. At the same time, it will end on 21 July 2024.

• Take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes.
• Clean the temple.
• After worshiping the gods and goddesses, worship the Bel tree.
• Pour milk on the Belpatra and offer water.
• Apply sandalwood paste on it.
• Light a lamp of desi ghee in front of it and tie a Kalava.
• Chant the mantra 'Om Namah Shivaya' in front of it with devotion.
• Offer fruits, sweets and other satvik things.
• Perform Aarti at the end.
• While tying the Kalava, circle around the Bel tree 11 times.
• Stay away from evil things.
• Be sure to meditate on Lord Shiva.
• After the puja, feed the poor.
