Why was Anurag's Paanch banned?
Films like Gangs of Wasseypur directed by Anurag Kashyap were passed by the Central Board of Film Certification i.e. the Censor Board. But his first movie Paanch was rejected by the CBFC. In fact, Paanch was completed in 2003 and preparations were underway for its release.
But when this movie reached the censor board, they stopped its release citing excessive violent content and after this the movie was banned. Let us tell you that the story of Paanch was inspired by a true incident.
In 1976, 10 dangerous murders took place in Pune due to which the entire city was shaken. There was an atmosphere of fear in the state and due to this the CRPF was also deployed to catch the criminals. Anurag made the film Paanch as a fiction based on this story, after seeing which the censor board also got scared and they did not pass it.

If we look at the star cast of '5', many famous actors of cinema were present in it. These include names of film stars like KK Menon, Tejaswi Kolhapuri, Sharat Saxena, Aditya Srivastava and Vijay Maurya.
Anurag Kashyap will leave Bollywood
While giving an interview to The Hollywood Reporter, Anurag Kashyap has announced his separation from Mumbai and Bollywood. He has said in his statement-
