New Delhi: American actress Teri Garr, born on 11 October 1944, passed away yesterday. She breathed her last at the age of 79. The fans are completely heartbroken by the demise of the actress who received nominations for her films in prestigious awards like Oscar, BAFTA and National Society of Film Critics.

The actress, who has retired from acting, was last seen in the American sitcom show 'Friends'. In this show, she played the character of Phoebe Abbott Sr. Her publicist also revealed the reason for her death.

Terry Garr's publicist Heidi Schaefer said the actress died in Los Angeles on Tuesday due to complications from multiple sclerosis. In 2002, the actress revealed that she had been diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis) for nearly two decades.

In 2017, she underwent surgery for a brain aneurysm and was confined to a wheelchair for some time. Talking about her illness during an interview in 2008, she said, "I had to learn to walk on my own feet again, I learned to speak and think again. I am not sure if this is necessary in Hollywood or not."
