Purvanchal Expressway: There are allegations of irregularities worth Rs 535 crore in the Purvanchal Expressway of Uttar Pradesh. National President of Azad Adhikar Sena Amitabh Thakur has demanded an inquiry into the allegations of irregularities in the payment of bonus before time in the Purvanchal Expressway built by the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Authority. He has complained about this to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. 

Amitabh Thakur said in his complaint that he has received certain audit reports from reliable sources. According to these audit reports, in the audit of the Expressway Authority by the Accountant General Audit 2, Lucknow Uttar Pradesh Office in June to July 2022, it was found that while the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India has fixed a maximum amount of five percent for early bonus payment, in the Purvanchal Expressway case, six percent was paid arbitrarily instead. Due to this, 6 contractors were overpaid Rs 104.10 crore.

He said that similarly, it was also found in the audit report that while this payment is to be made after the final completion certificate, in these cases the payment was made only after the provisional completion certificate, due to which a revenue loss of Rs 438.8 crore occurred. According to the report, due to wrongly giving premature bonus payment, a revenue loss of Rs 535.5 crore occurred, which is a serious irregularity.

Amitabh Thakur has demanded that the entire matter be investigated and accountability be fixed and the excess payment be recovered. He has written a letter to CM Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard . In which he has mentioned all these things. Let us tell you that since the inauguration of Purvanchal Express, many questions are being raised about its construction, for which the opposition has been continuously targeting the BJP.
