Aligarh News: The lathi charge by the police after an argument between the judge and lawyers during a recent hearing in Ghaziabad has led to protests in several districts. The incident has also had a profound impact in Aligarh, where lawyers took to the streets to express their displeasure. They gathered and demanded major action, including the transfer of the judge and compensation for the advocates injured in the lathi charge. The lawyers of Aligarh are so hurt by this incident that they have decided that they will not celebrate the festival of Diwali until their demands are met.
In this regard, the advocates organized a big demonstration outside the district court. They unitedly raised their voice and demanded the administration to stop the injustice and harassment being done to the advocates. The lawyers say that for some time now they are being constantly harassed by the police and the courts.
Demand for transfer of judge
They believe that despite their hard work and honesty, they are not getting justice. The lathi charge incident has crossed the limit of their patience. Now they have resolved to stand against this injustice. During the protest, the lawyers were holding placards in their hands on which slogans were written. The whole place echoed with slogans like "Transfer the judge", "Oppose the lathi charge of police", "Give justice to the lawyers". Their unity made it clear that they are not going to make any kind of compromise in this matter.
The advocates also said that the attitude of the police towards them is extremely negative. They believe that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure the safety of lawyers. If the police continue to display such brutality, they will not hesitate to raise their voice. For them, this issue is not only about lathi charge, but it is also about their rights and respect.
Will not celebrate until demands are met
Giving information on the entire matter, senior advocate Rakhpal Singh Raghav said that during their protest, the lawyers of Aligarh made it clear that they have no intention of celebrating the festival of Diwali. They said that until their demands are met, they will not celebrate any kind of festival. This decision was very difficult for them, because the festival of Diwali holds an important place in Indian culture. But by sacrificing this festival, they wanted to give a message that they are ready to fight for their rights.
