Students Protest: Candidates have been protesting outside the office of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission in Prayagraj for two days. The students started protesting on Monday and then protested in the open sky all night. After this, their protest continued on Tuesday as well. But now after the intensifying agitation of the students, the commission has issued a letter, in which it has responded to all the issues.
It is written in the letter of the Commission that this decision has been taken due to non-availability of examination centers in different districts of the state as per the standards prescribed in the Government Order 19-6-2024. A committee of eminent experts has been constituted by the Commission to take this decision.
The Commission's letter reads, 'The previously prevalent system for evaluation of examinations to be conducted on multiple days/shifts in relation to a single advertisement and the Supreme Court's decision dated 7 January 2022 in Civil Appeal No. 228 of 2022, State of UP and others vs. Atul Kumar Dwivedi and others, the decision passed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh in CWP- 25505- 2021, Rakesh Sihag vs. State of Haryana and others, the orders passed by the High Court New Delhi in Setu Vineet Goenka vs. National Testing Agency and others and after studying and reviewing the subject, the High Level Committee provided the recommendation.'
Why is this process being adopted?
As per the recommendation of the high level committee of eminent experts constituted by the Commission, in order to ensure purity, quality and transparency, the above process will be adopted for evaluation in objective type examinations held in two or more days/shifts.
In its letter, the commission has stated that the process adopted for evaluation will be computer system based and accordingly the process of such examinations will be completed in a fair manner. Let us tell you that all the parties had supported the students' movement.
