SC on bulldozer action: The Supreme Court yesterday strongly reprimanded the state governments for running bulldozers on the house of the accused and also raised many questions. The court said that even if any accused is proven guilty, running a bulldozer on his house is not justified in any way. 

 

The apex court also said that even if someone is found guilty of any crime, his house cannot be demolished without completing the legal process. Meanwhile, after the court's order, the UP government filed a reply on its bulldozer action. After seeing the affidavit of the Yogi government, the Supreme Court has praised it a lot. 

 

What did the Yogi government say in the affidavit?

  • Yogi government of UP said that no one's house is being demolished in the state without legal process.
  • Special Secretary of the Home Department said in the affidavit that any immovable property can be demolished under the legal process and we are following the same. 

 

SC praised the affidavit

  • The Supreme Court expressed happiness over the response of the Yogi government and praised the stand taken in the affidavit.
  • The Supreme Court said that it would issue some guidelines for the entire country in relation to the case. The court also sought suggestions from the lawyers of the parties to the case.

The Supreme Court said that any party wishing to give suggestions should also send it to the email ID of Madhya Pradesh Additional Advocate General Nachiketa Joshi at [email protected].

 

The court also made it clear that it will not protect any illegal construction. The next hearing of the case will now be held on September 17.
