Delhi Electric Buses: The wait for small-sized electric buses parked in the depots for months in Delhi to hit the roads is going to end soon. The 9-meter-long small-sized electric buses that the previous government of Delhi had bought to run under the Mohalla Bus Scheme are now going to be put on the roads soon by the new government, that too with a new name.
Mohalla buses will get a new name.
The previous Delhi government had bought these buses under the Mohalla Bus Scheme, but now their name will be changed. According to sources, the government has received proposals for several names, including names like "Namo Bus Service", "Antyodaya Bus Service" and "Saksham Bus Service". The new name will be officially announced in the next few days and soon these buses will be seen running on the roads of the city.
Operations will begin soon
Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh recently held an important meeting with bus manufacturing companies. In this meeting, it was agreed to take necessary steps to remove the obstacles in the operation of these buses. Bus manufacturing companies - JBM, PMI and Switch Mobility have been directed to complete the process of inspection and certification of buses by expert testing agencies within six months. As soon as these companies give the undertaking, the Transport Department will issue permission to run the buses.
The colour of the buses will remain the same, there will be new branding.
It was also decided in the meeting that the name of the buses will change, but there will be no change in their colour. Yes, some changes will definitely be made in the new branding and route display, so that people can easily identify them.
