Kanpur News Today: With changing times, priorities of countries around the world are also changing at the global level. All the countries of the world including India are resorting to modern technologies for internal and external security. However, MMG is still the most effective weapon of the army for fighting on the ground. 

The MMG weapon is equipped with many features. Its range is up to two kilometers and it is considered capable of hitting the enemies with precision. The demand for MMG i.e. medium machine gun has now increased in European countries as well, in view of this, Kanpur's Small Arms Factory will soon fulfill this demand. The number of which is said to be 2000 MMGs.

An order worth 225 crores
has been given to the Small Arms Factory located in Kanpur, which will be handed over to Europe within just two years after completing the order. Actually, the customer countries demanded that Europe needs such MMGs which are capable of firing a thousand bullets in a minute. The Small Arms Factory of Kanpur will fulfill this order by equipping it with the demands of the customer countries.

The Defense Ministry has also started work to fulfill the 2000 MMG order. This is being considered the biggest order till now. An agreement was signed with European countries in December 2023, in which Kanpur's Small Arms Factory has received an order of Rs 225 crore, which is being said to be the biggest order for the factory.

While ordering MMG, 
European countries had laid down several conditions. Under this, European countries wanted a weapon that could fire a thousand bullets in just one minute. The weight of this gun would be just 11 kg, so that the soldiers would not face any inconvenience in moving on the ground and covering long distances. Its range would be about 1.8 km. For this, many other countries including Asia are also being contacted. 

'Many countries are in contact for weapons'
Small Arms Factory GM Surendrapati said that work is being done at a fast pace to fulfill the export order of MMG. A time period of three years has been set for this and the same agreement has been made with the European country. He said that soon it will be made and the order will be sent. Apart from this, many other countries are also in contact for other modern weapons.
