Karachi. Pakistan's Sindh province's Tourism Minister Zulfiqar Ali Shah has proposed opening a religious corridor like Kartarpur in Sindh province bordering India. He said that this will make it very easy for Hindus and Jains to visit their historical religious places in the country. He was addressing a program to promote tourism in Sindh province in Dubai on Wednesday.
Shah said that the corridor could be built in Umarkot and Nagarparkar. He said that a large number of Hindus and Jains want to visit the religious places of Sindh. Umarkot has a historic Shiva temple, which is considered to be one of the oldest Hindu temples in Sindh province. Many people believe that it was built two thousand years ago.
A proposal was also made for a weekly flight from India to these places
There are many Jain temples in Nagarparkar as well. A Sindh government spokesperson also confirmed that Shah had discussed this possibility with departmental officials. Along with this, he also proposed to start a weekly flight from India to Sukkur or Larkana for the convenience of religious tourists. The Pakistan government opened the Kartarpur Corridor in November 2019, about 4.1 km from the Pakistan-India border.
