The Indian Coast Guard has arrested 78 fishermen fishing in Indian waters. Let us tell you that all these fishermen are from Bangladesh. Along with 78 fishermen, 2 Bangladeshi fishing trawlers have also been caught. Actually, on 9 December 2024, an important operation was carried out by the Indian Coast Guard for the purpose of maritime security. These arrests have been made in this episode. The Indian Coast Guard ship identified suspicious activity in the Indian maritime area during patrolling on IMBL.
Indian Coast Guard arrested 78 people
Indian Coast Guard Ship intercepted 02 Bangladeshi fishing trawlers engaged in unauthorised fishing activities. The vessels were identified as "FV Laila-2" and "FV Meghna-5", both registered in Bangladesh and have 41 and 37 crew members respectively. The trawlers were inspected at sea and later, a case was registered under the Maritime Zones Act, 1981 of India. Both the vessels were taken to Paradip for further investigation.
