In this sequence, Firozabad Police and Anti Narcotics team have arrested four members of a gang smuggling ganja from Orissa. 52 kg of ganja has been recovered from the arrested smugglers. This ganja was being smuggled from Orissa to Rajasthan. Action is being taken against the arrested smugglers.
According to Umesh Kumar, in-charge of Agra Anti Narcotics Department, he had received information that 52 kg of ganja was being smuggled in a car from Orissa, after which the Anti Narcotics team was active for the last three-four days after receiving the information. According to departmental information, the movement of these smugglers was being monitored continuously. Information was received that these people would bring this ganja from Orissa and reach Kotputli area of Rajasthan via Firozabad to supply it.
All the smugglers are from Rajasthan.
Umesh Kumar, in-charge of the Anti Narcotics Department, says that all these smugglers are from Kot Putli area of Rajasthan and they supply ganja there. In collaboration with Firozabad's Pachokhara police station, a check post was set up at Nihal Singh's bridge and the vehicles passing through there were being monitored. During the checking, this car was also seen coming. The police surrounded the Ertiga car from all sides and stopped it.
The value of the seized ganja is estimated to be Rs 40 lakh.
He said that on searching the car, about 52 kg of ganja was recovered from it. They were carrying the ganja hidden under the seats of the car. All the four smugglers have been arrested. The market value of the seized ganja is around Rs 40 lakh. Legal action is being taken against the smugglers under the Anti Narcotics Act.
