
A sensational case of money smuggling has come to light at the railway station in Kollam, Kerala. Two people chose the train to smuggle money so that no one could notice them in the crowd and the smugglers could easily succeed in their purpose. But after suspicion, both of them were arrested with Rs 44 lakh smuggled. These two people were caught by RPF and Railway Police from the station. Both were arrested because they were unable to give accurate information when asked about the money.
There were bundles of notes in the cloth bag tied around the waist
After the Kollam-Chennai train reached Punalur station at 5.30 am on Monday, a team of Railway Police and RPF searched two suspicious persons. During this, a bundle of notes was recovered from a cloth bag tied around their waist. The arrested persons are Muthu (58) and Alagappan (58), natives of Virudhunagar, Madurai. Both of them had arrived by train with Rs 44 lakh. They have not been able to produce the source of the smuggled money or any other documents. Further investigation is being conducted in the case.
