News Topical, Digital Desk : Delhi Crime News: Mohit Wadhwa alias Manu Wadhwa (44), a resident of Rajouri Garden, Delhi has been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on charges of fraud worth crores. It is alleged that he duped Guruji's devotees of Rs 9 crore in the name of investment in Dubai. Mohit Wadhwa used to call himself a follower of Guruji and regularly attended satsangs at the big temple in Chhatarpur. Gradually, he started organizing satsangs at his home as well. 

Through satsang, he succeeded in winning the trust of the devotees. A total of 14 people from four different families have filed a complaint against Mohit Wadhwa and his associates. These victims say that Mohit lured them into investing in Dubai schemes by promising huge profits. From September 2017 to September 2020, the accused extorted about Rs 9 crore from these people in several installments.

Neither documents were received nor money was returned

Also, as time passed, neither any information related to any investment was given to the victims nor any documents were given nor their money was returned. When questions were asked, the accused started making excuses. Finally, fed up and tired, the victims knocked on the door of the Economic Offences Wing.

Arrest and further action

Investigation has revealed that Mohit Wadhwa has been arrested earlier in a similar case. According to the police, the accused is only 12th pass, but in his desire to become rich quickly, he chose the path of cheating people. During interrogation, he also admitted that he invested some amount in crypto currency and spent the rest of the money on his luxuries.

The EOW team arrested the accused from Subhash Nagar on May 9. The police is searching for his accomplices who helped him in this fraud.
