News Topical, Digital Desk : Cases of HIV infection have surfaced in 14 villages in the Lotan block area, causing concern among residents. According to a health department report, about a dozen people, including a husband and wife and some minor children, have been found infected.

Following the case, the health department took the situation seriously and launched a special screening and awareness campaign in the affected villages. Village-to-village camps are being set up to screen people, and suspected individuals are being provided with medical advice.

Lotan CHC Superintendent Amit Chaudhary said that all those who tested positive have been linked to treatment and are being provided with necessary medications. They are also being encouraged to lead a normal life through counseling.

The health department has appealed to the public that there is no need to panic about this disease. With timely testing and regular treatment, a person can live a normal life.

The department has also clarified that the identities of patients are being kept confidential. The administration has instructed ASHAs and ANMs to go door-to-door to raise awareness.

People have been told that if they have any kind of doubt, they should go to the nearest health centre and get themselves examined, so that treatment can be started in time.
