News Topical, Digital Desk : A major tragedy occurred during a pre-wedding function in Kalyan, Thane district, on Sunday evening. Around 125 guests attending the Haldi ceremony began vomiting, feeling nauseous, and experiencing severe stomach pain immediately after eating. The suspected food poisoning caused panic throughout the event. People were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals and clinics.
According to police, the incident occurred at a housing complex in the Khadakpada area of Kalyan. Guests had been invited for dinner and a traditional Haldi ceremony. However, things took a turn for the worse shortly after the meal.
All patients have now returned home
Kalyan Zone-III Deputy Commissioner of Police Atul Zende said that approximately 100 to 125 people complained of food poisoning. All received timely treatment and are now in stable condition. All patients have been discharged from the hospital and returned home.
The police have immediately taken action in this matter. Food samples have been sent for testing to determine the exact cause. The real reason will be revealed only after the investigation is complete.
Catering came from Ahmedabad
According to reports, the food for the event was supplied by a catering company from Ahmedabad. An officer from the Khadakpada police station stated that the owner of the catering company and other related individuals have been called in for questioning.
The police are investigating the matter thoroughly. It is not yet clear what was wrong with the food, but strict action will be taken against the culprits once the investigation is complete.
