The film entertained the audience for a long time and they liked the direction of Anees Bazmee very much. In this film, Akshay Kumar was seen in the role of Rooh Baba whose character's name was Dr. Aditya Srivastava.

The character of Rooh Baba made headlines

Bhool Bhulaiyaa revolves around an NRI (Shiny Ahuja) and his wife (Vidya Balan) who ignore warnings about ghosts and decide to move into their ancestral home. Soon, strange events begin to occur while living in the huge mansion, forcing them to call in a psychiatrist (Rooh Baba) to help them solve the mystery.

Akshay Kumar was not the first choice

The role of Aditya Srivastava was first offered to Saif Ali Khan and not Akshay Kumar but for some reason he refused to do this film. After this, this role went to Khiladi Kumar. Akshay's comic timing and character were well-liked in the film and he became a hit.

Apart from this, Rani Mukherjee was offered the role of Avni which was later played by Vidya Balan. Abhishek Bachchan was offered the role of Siddharth Chaturvedi but he turned it down. Later Shiney Ahuja played this role.

Karthik replaced Akshay

After this, the makers took the super hit franchise forward and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' was released in the year 2022. This film also achieved a great success. The film was directed by Anees Bazmee. In this film, Kartik played the role of Rooh Baba while Tabu played the role of a witch.
