Dubai: News of a major accident has come from Iran. It is being told that two people died and 10 others were injured in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Center due to a gas leak. It is being told that this leak happened in a workshop of the Guard in Isfahan province and the injured people have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Isfahan Provincial Guard identified the deceased as Captain Mojtaba Nazari and Lieutenant Colonel Mokhtar Morshedi, the report said. The Guard statement did not say whether the two senior officers died of suffocation from gas or the explosion was caused by a gas leak. It did not say how people were injured or give any other details.

A big accident also happened in 2011

There have been several deadly explosions at Revolutionary Guard facilities in recent years. The deadliest incident occurred in 2011, when an explosion at a missile base near Tehran killed 17 people, including commander Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam, who led the paramilitary force's missile program.

Did Israel attack?

Initially, officials described the blast as an accident, although a former prisoner later said guards suspected Israel of carrying out the attack and had questioned him in this regard. Tensions between Iran and Israel have remained high since the assassination of Hamas' top political leader Ismail Haniyeh in the Iranian capital on July 31.

Haniyeh's death causes uproar in Israel and Iran

Iran accused Israel of killing Haniyah, but Israel did not take responsibility. Top Iranian officials vowed to retaliate against Israel for Haniyah's death.

Israeli officials rarely acknowledge the operations carried out by the country's secret military units or its Mossad intelligence agency. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has long considered Iran to be his country's biggest threat.
