News Topical, Digital Desk : Winter has intensified its impact in Rajasthan. Last night (Wednesday-Thursday), Fatehpur, a town in Sikar district, was the coldest place in the state this season. According to data released by the Jaipur Meteorological Center, the minimum temperature in Fatehpur was recorded at 7.0 degrees Celsius in the 24 hours ending Thursday morning.
According to the Meteorological Department, this drop isn't limited to Fatehpur, but nighttime temperatures are below normal across most parts of the state. During this period, minimum temperatures ranged from 7.0°C to 15.0°C across most parts of the state.
The department said this temperature is about 1 to 2 degrees Celsius below the normal average for this time of year. This drop has increased the chill in the state, especially in the morning and evening.
The mercury reached 7 degrees
The Jaipur Meteorological Center confirmed that the weather remained completely dry across the state during the past 24 hours. No significant or sudden changes were observed in the maximum daytime and minimum nighttime temperatures, but the steady drop in mercury is a clear sign of the onset of winter. The Shekhawati region, which includes Fatehpur, is known for its harsh winters, and this 7.0 degree Celsius mark is considered the beginning of that.
Forecast for the coming week
The Meteorological Department has also issued a forecast for the next week. According to it, the weather in the state will remain dry for the next week, with no rain expected. However, the department has also indicated that the minimum temperature may continue to drop slightly. This means that people in Rajasthan may face more severe cold in the coming days.
