News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump's Republican Party MP Randy Fine has introduced the "Greenland Annexation and Statehood Act" bill in Congress. The bill aims to give the Trump administration the legal authority to annex Greenland and grant it US statehood. The Trump party MP stated that the bill is crucial to countering Chinese and Russian influence in the Arctic. If the bill is passed in Congress, it will give Trump complete freedom to take action against Greenland.

'Trump will be able to counter Chinese and Russian influence'

"Great news! Today, I'm proud to introduce the Greenland Annexation and Statehood Act, a bill that allows the President to explore the necessary means to bring Greenland into the Union," Fine said in a post on the social media platform X. He further said that America's enemies are trying to gain a foothold in the Arctic, and we can't let that happen. He claimed that these steps are essential to counter Chinese and Russian influence in the Arctic.

'Need to re-establish American dominance'

The Republican congressman said US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have made it clear that Washington needs to reassert American dominance by acquiring Greenland. "My bill makes this vision a reality and gives the US the upper hand for the next 100 years by making Greenland an official state. China and Russia should be warned that the days of interfering with our sovereignty in the Arctic region are over," he said.

America wants to occupy Greenland

If the bill becomes law, it would empower the US to take "whatever steps are necessary" to negotiate or acquire Greenland. Previously, the White House said Trump believes the US should acquire Greenland to prevent it from falling under the influence of hostile forces.
