DK Shivakumar shared a post on the social media platform X on the morning of Wednesday, January 14. In the post, the Deputy CM wrote, "Even if efforts fail, prayers do not fail."

DK Shivakumar's post fuels speculation

Deputy CM DK Shivakumar's post has sparked a stir in Karnataka politics. According to media reports, DK Shivakumar has met with the Congress high command several times to petition for power in Karnataka. He has also appeared at the breakfast table with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

DK Shivakumar has repeatedly told senior Congress leaders that the Congress government in Karnataka has completed 2.5 years and it is time to make him Chief Minister. However, no official confirmation has yet been made by any leader.

Rahul Gandhi's Karnataka visit

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Karnataka on Tuesday, January 13. During his visit, he met with DK Shivakumar as well as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Rahul Gandhi's visit to Karnataka comes amid a tussle over the chief minister's position. The Congress leader first met with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister separately, and later brought them together for a discussion.

According to media reports, Rahul Gandhi spoke with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about Karnataka's upcoming budget session. Siddaramaiah, however, denied that any political issues were discussed with Rahul Gandhi.
