There are many mythological stories about the 14-year imprisonment of Goddess Devaki, the mother of Lord Krishna. She faced many hardships in life, one of which was the imprisonment of 14 years along with her husband Vasudev. They had to endure this difficult time due to the atrocities of Kansa and the prophecy, but do you know that this imprisonment of Maa Devaki also has a deep connection with Lord Rama? So let's know this secret (Maa Devaki Imprisonment) .

Mother Devaki prayed

According to mythology, in her previous birth, mother Devaki was Aditi and her husband was sage Kashyap. At that time, Ravana had defeated the gods and taken over the heaven. Aditi was very sad to see the plight of her sons and she prayed to Lord Vishnu to free her sons from the tyranny of Ravana.

Lord Vishnu heard Aditi's prayers and told her that he would incarnate on earth to kill Ravana. In this birth, Lord Vishnu took the form of Vaman and asked for three steps of land from King Bali and restored the lost kingdom to the gods.

It is said that in this birth, Aditi had also asked Lord Vishnu for a boon that she would be born as his son in the next birth. Lord Vishnu accepted this wish of hers too.

cause of death of kansa

It is said that Aditi became Devaki in the next birth and Kashyap became sage Vasudev. Now comes the matter of their 14 years of imprisonment. It is said that a prophecy had said that Kansa would die at the hands of the eighth son of mother Devaki, due to which Kansa imprisoned his sister Devaki and brother-in-law Vasudev and killed their seven sons one by one, so that he could escape the wrath of death.

There is a connection with Lord Rama

Mother Devaki's 14 years of imprisonment is connected with Lord Rama. It is believed that when Ramji incarnated on earth in Treta Yuga, he had to endure 14 years of exile because mother Kaikeyi had asked King Dasharath for the boon of exile for Lord Shri Ram.

And as a result of this, Mother Devaki was imprisoned for 14 years. Actually, it is said that Mother Devaki was the incarnation of King Dasharath's wife i.e. Mother Kaikeyi.
