In such a situation, you must have seen that some people clap three times in front of Shiva after worship. This is a spiritual and religious practice, which is a symbol of reverence, devotion and dedication towards Lord Shiva. 

Clapping three times in front of the Shivling is a religious tradition that has deep significance. The first clap marks the devotee's presence in front of Lord Shiva. The second clap symbolizes the prayer for wish fulfillment and prosperity and the third clap expresses the desire for forgiveness and a place at the feet of the Lord. 

Invocation of the Trinity

The belief behind clapping three times is that it invokes Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. All the three gods are saluted through this. It is also a symbol of worship of the triguna form of Lord Shiva i.e. Satvaguna, Rajoguna and Tamoguna. By doing this, the devotee soon gets the blessings of Shiva.

The mythological stories tell 

According to some beliefs, both Ravana and Lord Rama also clapped three times after worshipping Shiva, which brought them success and blessings. It is said that Ravana clapped three times after worshiping Shiva, after which Ravana got the golden Lanka. 

At the same time, after finding Mother Sita, when Lord Shri Ram needed to build a bridge to go to Lanka, then after worshipping Shiva in Rameswaram, he clapped three times in front of Bholenath. After this, the work of the bridge was successfully completed. 

 

Other beliefs 

Some people believe that clapping three times removes negative energy. Actually, clapping creates vibrations, which removes negative energy and transmits positive energy. This gives mental peace to the person. 

At the same time, some people believe that clapping three times puts pressure on the acupressure points of the hand. This increases blood circulation in various parts of the body and provides health benefits.
