Lucknow : Police has taken action in the case of hooliganism and other objectionable activities with pedestrians and vehicles after waterlogging due to rain near the underpass near Taj Hotel in Lucknow. Police has registered a case against the unruly elements and arrested four people so far.
Along with this, on prima facie negligence, the local Deputy Commissioner of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Police have been removed with immediate effect. Also, the local Inspector in charge, Outpost in charge and all the policemen present at the Outpost have been suspended.
An FIR has been registered in Gomti Nagar police station. The police have arrested four accused so far. Sections have been increased on the basis of evidence and CCTV footage. The police say that the remaining accused will also be arrested soon.While people were feeling relieved on Wednesday after the rain after a long time, some miscreants near the Taj Hotel brought shame to the capital. These miscreants at the Taj underpass in the posh area of Gomti Nagar not only created a ruckus for an hour, but also misbehaved with women.
A woman and her friend were molested after being pushed off the bike. The police were nowhere to be seen at the time of the incident, while the offices of ACP and ADCP are located at some distance. At night, Gomtinagar police identified the accused Pawan Yadav and Sunil Kumar on the basis of CCTV footage and arrested them.
The miscreants pushed children and the elderly into the water. They threw dirty water and mud on some people. They also kicked and punched the bumpers and windows of vehicles. The miscreants held the entire area hostage for about an hour and did as they pleased, but the police was nowhere to be seen.
