Lucknow. When the opposition tried to corner the government by raising the issue of law and order in the assembly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave an ultimatum of action against the criminals in his own style. He said that many people who do not listen to words are being explained in other ways as well.

Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs and Finance Minister Suresh Khanna shared the statistics of action being taken against criminals in response to questions raised by the opposition. He said, people's faith in law and order is awakened by continuous action against criminals. It was said here (in the House) that we will bury them, so we did. Whoever commits a crime will be punished in proportion to that crime.

SP member raised questions on law and order.

SP members Dr. Sangram Yadav, Pradeep Yadav and others raised questions on law and order regarding rape of girls in Ghazipur and Maharajganj, gang rape of mother and daughter in Gonda, rape and murder of a girl in Meerut, extortion from trucks in Ballia, increasing liquor, drug and animal smuggling in the districts bordering Bihar. Alleged that the victims are not being heard at the tehsil and police station level. Said, the police is autocratic.

Pradeep Yadav also accused the police of shooting two youths of one side in the leg during a dispute between two parties in Auraiya. The issue of 121 people dying in a stampede in Hathras was also raised. SP members said that the law and order situation is pathetic. They demanded that the proceedings of the House be stopped and a discussion be held on this issue, which was rejected.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister hit back at the SP members in a different style. He said, 'Those who have glass palaces do not throw stones at others'. Not just the state, the entire country knows that the SP lost power because it supported criminals. We never stood with criminals. He said, have you forgotten the murder of Raju Pal and Krishnanand Rai? Who saved their accused?

He said, 'Whenever you pick up a mirror, first look at it and then show it'. The result of zero tolerance policy towards crime is that people of other states expect a Chief Minister like Yogi Adityanath. He said that in Ballia, our IPS caught extortion from trucks. When a complaint was made, he also got the accused arrested. He also kept a record of the action taken.

Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey said that the government puts all the blame on SP. Instead of just preventive action, steps should be taken to prevent such incidents. The Chief Minister said that the leader of the opposition knows that prosecution action is a part of this. He retorted that one of your MLAs is in jail in a case of liquor smuggling. An MLA was pushing Kanpur into riots.

SP MLA Vijma Yadav said, Karvirya's release is a threat to life.

SP MLA Vijma Yadav raised the question in the House on the premature release of former MLA Udaybhan Karvariya, who is serving life sentence in the murder case of her husband former MLA Jawahar Singh Yadav. She said, AK-47 was fired for the first time in Prayagraj. Her husband was riddled with bullets. She fought till the High Court and got the guilty Udaybhan Karvariya and others punished. He was acquitted.

He said in a choked voice, I and my family may be murdered. The government will be responsible for this. He said, we expect justice from the Chief Minister. The Leader of Opposition also raised questions on the release of Karvariya. On which the Parliamentary Affairs Minister said that information will be collected in the case and a reply will be given.
