Trump made this claim by posting an image of what appears to be an edited Wikipedia page on the social media handle Truth.

This edited official image lists him as the 45th and 47th President of the United States and as the Acting President of Venezuela. The original Wikipedia page does not list Trump as the Acting President of Venezuela, nor has any international organization recognized this claim.
This statement came after Maduro's arrest
This post comes after the US captured Venezuela's current President, Nicolas Maduro, on January 3. Maduro, along with his wife, is being held in New York on federal drug trafficking charges.
The operation followed months of US pressure, sanctions and military activity targeting the oil-rich country. Maduro has claimed he was kidnapped.
The international community condemned the action.
China, Russia, Colombia, and even Spain have condemned the US action as a blatant violation of international law. Hours after the operation, Trump announced that the US would temporarily block Venezuela, citing security concerns and the need for a controlled transition. He also said that in the meantime, the US would manage Venezuela's oil and sell it on the global market.
Who is the acting President of Venezuela?
Delcy Rodriguez, Venezuela's second-highest official after Maduro, has been sworn in as interim president. Rodriguez has rejected US claims of authority and demanded Maduro's release.
Trump has warned that if Rodriguez doesn't help the US, he could pay a heavy price. He has also said that the consequences for him could be even more severe than those for Maduro.
