
News Topical, Digital Desk : A landslide occurred in Jangambag of Sundarnagar in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday (September 2) evening. Two houses were hit by it. Bodies of three people were recovered from the debris. Four JCB machines were deployed in the rescue operation. Breakers will also be used if needed. Rescue operations are being carried out with the help of police, SDRF and NDRF. As a precautionary measure, two other adjoining houses were also evacuated.
Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut expressed grief
BJP MP from Mandi Kangana Ranaut has expressed grief over the accident. She wrote in a post, “The heart-wrenching news of the death of three people in the tragic incident of landslide in Sundarnagar of Mandi parliamentary constituency and debris falling on two houses is disturbing and saddening. My deepest condolences are with the affected families in this difficult time. I am in constant touch with the administration and it will be ensured that all possible help reaches the affected families. May God give peace to the departed souls and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this deep sorrow.”
What did the MLA of Sundernagar say?
Rakesh Jamwal, BJP MLA from Sundar Nagar, said, “Around 6 pm today, a huge landslide occurred in which two houses were buried under the debris. There were five people in both those houses. Four people were in one house and an elderly woman was in the other house. Three people were rescued, all three of whom were found dead. Two people are buried under the debris. The administration has reached here and people are also being helped.”
