News Topical, Digital Desk : Kishore Kumar, who lent his voice to over 2,000 songs, was a rare gem in the music industry. He sang a remarkable array of songs, some of which moved people to tears, others compelled them to dance, and others ignited the spark of love in their hearts.

Exactly 57 years ago, Kishore Kumar sang a similar romantic song that remains one of the most popular old songs even today. This song earned the singer his first Filmfare Award and launched him into success as a playback singer in the industry.

The song was filmed on Rajesh Khanna

This Kishore Kumar song was filmed on Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore. Perhaps you don't know that this three-and-a-half-minute song was shot in a single take. The stars were simply instructed on what to do, and then, without much rehearsal or multiple takes, the song was shot.

The song won Kishore Kumar his first Filmfare Award.

This song is from the 57-year-old film Aradhana. Directed by Shakti Samanta, Aradhana featured Kishore Kumar singing three songs: "Sapnon Ki Rani," "Kora Kagaj Tha Yeh Man Mera," and "Roop Tera Mastana." "Roop Tera Mastana," the song, became one of the most popular in the 1960s. It was for this song that Kishore received his first Filmfare Award. This marked the beginning of his rise to stardom.

The song was shot in a single take

In an interview, Sharmila Tagore explained why the song was shot in a single take. She said, "The producer had given the set to someone else, so we had to finish the song. We were short on time, so Shaktiji decided to do it in one take." Sharmila explained that the song was shot near a fireplace, which prevented both of them from moving around much.

S.D. Burman fell ill during the making of the song.

The song "Roop Tera Mastana" had amazing lyrics. The lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi, and the music was composed by S.D. Burman. However, due to illness, S.D. Burman only composed the soundtrack. The rest of the creative work was handled by his son, R.D. Burman.
