The angry mob vandalized the police vehicle. Four police personnel including the SHO were injured in this. They have been admitted to the hospital. The police have started action by naming 34 people in this case. The case is of Barra village of Bardah police station area.
According to the information, a wedding procession from Anapur Chakva Bazar of Jaunpur had come to Barra village of Bardah police station area on June 5. During the wedding of Ramashry's daughter, a dispute arose between the wedding party and the villagers over dancing on the DJ. The dispute turned violent on Friday night when people in an Innova car from Jaunpur were passing through the village. The villagers attacked the car and broke its glass.
On receiving information about the commotion in the village, Dial 112 and Bardha police station reached the spot. Before the police could do anything, the villagers attacked the police with bricks, stones and sticks. In the attack, station in-charge Rajiv Kumar Singh suffered serious injuries on his head and hands and legs, he has been admitted to the ICU. While three other policemen have also been injured and the police vehicle has also been vandalized.
Police action
As soon as the information of attack on police was received, police force from a dozen police stations under the leadership of Lalganj CO Bhupesh Kumar Pandey reached the spot and controlled the situation. Police detained 21 people including 13 men and 8 women from the spot. SSP Hemraj Meena said that a case has been registered against 34 named and other unknown people. DIG Sunil Kumar Singh reached the hospital to know the condition of the injured police station in-charge.
SSP Hemraj Meena said that there was a dispute between two parties over playing DJ in the wedding, after which this incident happened. Four policemen including the station in-charge were injured in stone pelting on the police. Strict action will be taken against the culprits. In view of the tension in the village, additional police force has been deployed.
