Recalling the soldiers' sacrifice, PM Modi said their indomitable courage, patriotism, and dedication are a source of inspiration for every Indian.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tribute to the CRPF jawans who sacrificed their lives in the 2019 Pulwama attack, remembering their bravery, dedication and service to the nation. "Hundreds of salutes to our brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Pulwama on this day in 2019," PM Modi said.

In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi wrote, "Remembering the brave heroes who laid down their lives in Pulwama on this day in 2019. Their devotion, resolve and service to the nation will always remain etched in our collective minds. Every Indian draws strength from their courage."

The Vice President also paid tribute

Earlier, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan also paid humble tribute to the brave CRPF soldiers. Recalling their sacrifice, the Vice President said it is forever etched in Indian history and will continue to inspire the nation for centuries.

He wrote, "I pay tribute to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the Pulwama terror attack. Their supreme sacrifice will always remain in the memory of the nation and will continue to inspire us to build a strong and secure India."

On February 14, 2019, terrorists carried out a deadly attack.

One of the deadliest terror attacks took place on February 14, 2019 in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, targeting a CRPF convoy on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, in which more than 40 soldiers were martyred.

The Pulwama terror attack not only escalated tensions between India and Pakistan but also sparked a worldwide discussion about cross-border terrorism and security in Jammu and Kashmir. It is observed as a "Black Day" to remember the 40 brave CRPF soldiers who lost their lives in the attack.
