A devotee from Kolkata has donated gold ornaments worth crores to his God. This donor is being discussed a lot in the temple premises. This donor is none other than Sanjeev Goenka, the owner of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2025. The performance of the LSG team has been very poor this season. The team has been able to win only 5 out of 11 matches, while it has faced defeat in 6. 

 

What is the whole matter?

Sanjeev Goenka donated gold jewellery worth Rs 3.63 crore to the Lord Venkateswara temple on Friday. He donated 5.2 kg of diamond and gemstone jewellery worth Rs 3.63 crore. He also shared photos of his visit to the temple on his X handle. 

It is worth mentioning that Lord Venkateshwara Temple is located in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh and is also known as Tirupati Balaji Temple. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu's incarnation, Venkateshwara and is one of the major pilgrimage sites of India. This temple is situated on the hills of Tirumala in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. 

This temple is visited by lakhs of devotees every year and people donate to the temple to show their faith. Tirupati Laddu Prasadam is very famous in the temple and is given to the devotees. The temple is run by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), which is under the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Statement came from the temple management

A press release issued by the temple management said, 'Gold ornaments were offered to Sri Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala on Friday. The ornaments were handed over to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Additional Executive Officer Venkaiah Chowdhary at Ranganayakula Mandapam in Tirumala.'
