News Topical, Digital Desk : 20 June 1975 is a very important day in Hollywood history. Because on this day Spielberg's film Jaws was released. This was the first film which was called a 'summer blockbuster'. After this, the trend of releasing big budget films in summer started. Before this, mostly low budget and

Steven had changed the trend

Jaws is a 1975 American thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg. Based on Peter Benchley's 1974 novel of the same name, the film stars Roy Scheider in the title role. It is the story of a great white shark that terrorizes a beach town. The film not only broke box office records upon its release, but also changed the way films were marketed and distributed in Hollywood, especially for films released during the summer.

What was the story of the film?

The film is set on the fictional Amity Island. The film begins with a shark attack on a young woman who was swimming late at night after a beach party. After the local coroner determines the cause of death, Amity Island's new police chief, Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), orders the beaches closed. He fears the news will hurt the summer tourism economy. He takes this decision because of this.
