News Topical, Digital Desk : Regarding the nomination-based lifetime Golden Visa for the United Arab Emirates, the UAE has said that there is no Golden Visa for Indians and Bangladeshi citizens for one lakh dirhams (around Rs 23.30 lakh).

The UAE's clarification comes after a July 6 report said the UAE government had introduced a new type of golden visa, which would be different from the current practice of making large investments in property or business here. It also said it had selected a consultancy firm called the Ryad Group to test an initial form of nomination-based golden visa in India.

Riyaad Group had claimed

Ryad Kamal Ayub, Managing Director of Ryad Group, had said that this is a golden opportunity for Indians to get UAE's Golden Visa. He had told that whenever an applicant applies for this Golden Visa, we will first check their background, which will include anti-money laundering and criminal record check.

The UAE's federal Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security Authority (ICP) has rejected the claims, saying they have no legal basis. The ICP said all Golden Visa applications are dealt with through official government channels within the UAE and no internal or external consultancy firm is recognised as an authorised party in the application process.

The company apologized

  • It also said that legal action will be taken against entities spreading such false information in an attempt to illegally collect money from individuals wishing to stay and reside in the UAE. In a statement sent to Khaleej Times a day after the ICP rejected the claims, Dubai-based Riyad Group apologised for the "public confusion" caused by the visa issue.
  • The group has said that we take full responsibility to ensure that future communications are clear, accurate and in line with the UAE's stringent regulatory framework. In its statement, Raed Group said that we also want to acknowledge that some of the public comments made by the Managing Director of Raed Group were incorrect.
